Witchcraft and Wizardry

After all that religious nonsense, here is some really exciting news - we are hoping to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince on Saturday ( providing holiday packing is almost done.) Sit back and enjoy this clip - what do you mean you don't like Harry Potter!?

  3. I enjoyed it a lot... although as we went late and the film finished at 12.30am I was dead on my feet by the time I got home. I have reviewed it on my blog if you are interested.

  4. I shall definitely do that. We are now going tomorrow as my son was invited to a BBQ this afternoon! So, unsure if I'll get time to review it, as we are off on holiday - but your piece may give me some ideas.

  5. Hi,

I took a look, the clip you posted was fantastic. I notice you said it seemed a "filler film" and that was interesting as "The Half Blood Prince" was possibly my least favourite book ( although it was fascinating to start wondering if Harry was a horcrux.) I read all the books with my kids- or alongside them when they got older, so some very happy memories!

My favourites are the Goblet of Fire and actually the final book , The Deathly Hallows." I had reservations about setting the action away from Hogwarts, but it was brilliant, as though it had finally "grown up" out of a school series into an adult genre. I loved Harry's final encounter with Voldemort, with its very Christian overtones. Hated the seventeen years on ending though.

I'd love to write about the Potter books as a series with strong ethical and religious themes.
